Chances for the Mississippi River to reach minor flooding levels in the region are about 70 percent.The National Weather Service makes the predictions in its latest analysis covering the period of now through June 8.

Forecasters say Quincy has a 60 percent chance of reaching moderate flooding levels, but that the area from Hannibal to Winfield won’t be as prone to high water.

The weather service says the chances of major flooding in the region range from 10 percent to 30 percent.

Forecasters warn that the data are based on conditional and historical simulations.
