2000 is a Serious Number

I don't know about you, but I've watched enough St. Louis Cardinal games to see the "Six is a Serious Number" commercials.  And, the way the Cardinals have been scoring runs lately (good job Cousin Matt!), the commercial has been everywhere.  But, I would argue that for us at KICK-FM, 2000 is a "serious number".  And, for that reason, we owe you a debt of thanks.

When KICK-FM launched itself into the world of Facebook a couple years ago, frankly we didn't know what to do with it.  We were like a dog chasing a car...even if we had caught it, we wouldn't know what to do with it.

Many of us at the radio station come from an era where requests and contact with the listeners came by phone call.  This Facebook was a new animal that honestly we didn't know how to tame.  Over the past few months, it became apparent to us that for many of you, this was the preferred way of letting us know what you wanted or thought.  Once we got over our stubbornness and embraced the medium, we began to grow...quickly.

Over the past year, we have nearly tripled our "Likes" on Facebook...and for that we only have one person to thank...and that person is you.  We haven't really done anything to deserve your love...other than doing our absolute best to play requests that you post there as quickly as our tiny little fingers can type.  We also try to answer questions, criticisms, ideas...and a whopping majority have been awesome and more than fair.

Yesterday, we went flying past 2000 "likes" on Facebook...pretty amazing considering we were at the dreary 800 mark less than one year ago.  2000 is a serious number.  But, we also like the number 1...because to us, that is what you are.  Thanks so much for all you do for us!  We sincerely do appreciate it.
